Adinkra Jewelry: AKOFENA, Sword of War Necklace with Sterling Silver Extender

Handcrafted from CoffeeHouse Designs, this Adinkra symbol necklace is made with a hard basswood pendant. The pendant measures 1 1/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. The length is 19 inches including the pendant and features a sterling silver extender clasp. This necklace is adjustable to 16" if you prefer a shorter necklace. 18" sterling silver ball chains are available at no extra charge.

The "sword of war " is a symbol of courage, valor, and heroism.

The crossed swords were a popular motif in the heraldic shields of many former Akan states. In addition to recognizing courage and valor, the swords can represent legitimate state authority.
